Description
The resurrection of Yahshua changes everything, but the story continues.
A Discipleship Journey Through the Book of Acts and Paul’s Letters follows the reign of the ascended Messiah, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and the expansion of the Gospel from Jerusalem into the nations.
Acts provides the movement of the story. The disciples wait in Jerusalem, the Spirit is poured out at Pentecost, thousands respond, the ekklesia begins taking visible form, persecution scatters believers, Samaria receives the Gospel, Gentiles are welcomed, and Paul is sent throughout the Roman world proclaiming the risen Messiah.
Paul’s letters are read within that historical movement. Rather than approaching Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Thessalonians as isolated doctrinal documents, readers encounter them as letters written to real communities learning how to live within the New Covenant.
The workbook explores repentance, baptism, the Spirit, faith, justification, righteousness, covenant identity, Jew and Gentile, restored Israel, the blessing promised to Abraham, life in the Spirit, spiritual gifts, love, the body of Messiah, Kingdom citizenship, perseverance, resurrection, and the return of the King.
Paul’s writings become much clearer when they remain connected to the story that produced them. His teaching is rooted in the Torah, shaped by Israel’s history and prophets, centered upon the death and resurrection of Messiah, and directed toward the formation of faithful new covenant communities.
This workbook therefore follows both the mission and the explanation: Acts shows the Gospel moving outward, while Paul helps the emerging ekklesia understand what that Gospel means for the way they now live.
